What information do I need to open an Institutional Lightspeed Crypto account?
Entity address, EIN, proof of address, proof of entity formation, beneficial owners or controlling persons and contact information, controlling persons’ SSN, DOB, ID document(Driver’s license, passport, government ID, or residence permit), purpose of account, source of assets and income, intended use of account, anticipated type of assets, anticipated monthly cash volume, anticipated trading patterns, anticipated incoming monthly transactions, anticipated outgoing monthly transactions, nature of business of the company.

Is there a fee to open and maintain a Lightspeed Crypto Account?
No, there is no additional fee to open and maintain a Lightspeed Crypto Account.

Why does my account need to be approved by Prime Trust?
Prime Trust is our qualified custodian and holds 100% of user funds in a combination of hot and cold storage, Lightspeed Crypto never has custody of user funds at any point in time.

Is Lightspeed Crypto an exchange?
No, LSCX is a technology service allowing direct market execution to the crypto markets via third party providers.

How do I know if my account is approved?
You will be notified via email once your account is approved

How do I re-upload KYC/AML documents?
Users must submit all new account documentation through the “activate lightspeed crypto” widget located on the top right of the screen. If account activation fails and users need to re-upload documentation, please contact lightspeed crypto support.

Account Information

What does it mean that crypto assets are held at Prime Trust?
All user assets are held and secured by Prime Trust via a combination of hot and cold storage. Prime Trust holds the private keys to all user funds. LSCX never has control or custody of user funds at any point in time.

How can I update my address?
Please contact lightspeed crypto support at lightspeedcrypto.com/support to be assisted with address change.

How do I update my phone number?
Please contact lightspeed crypto support at lightspeedcrypto.com/support to be assisted with phone number change.

How do I update my email address?
At this time, users are unable to change their email addresses from the initial email used to sign up with LSCX.

How do I update my password?
On the login page, users must click “forgot password” and a password reset link will be sent to the email address associated with the account. Please contact Lightspeed Crypto for additional support.

What is a demo account?
A demo account offers users the ability to access the Coinigy trading platform free for 30 days– allowing users to link external exchange APIs to trade and manage their portfolios all in one place.

How do I close my account?
In order to deactivate your account, please submit a support ticket at support@lightspeedcrypto.com stating that you wish to deactivate your account

Activity Statements

How can I view historical account activity?
From the main platform page, users must first navigate to the “orders” tab in the top left-hand corner. From there, users can monitor open orders or view previous order history by clicking between the two tabs located at the top right hand corner of the orders page.

Account Types

What account types does Lightspeed Crypto support?
Lightspeed Crypto offers users the ability to open individual user and corporate entity accounts.

Can I open a joint account?
No, joint accounts are not supported at the moment.

Can I add a beneficiary?
No, Lightspeed Crypto does not support this at the moment.

Commissions and Fees

Are there added fees or commissions on my Lightspeed Crypto trades?
No, there are no additional fees or commissions for LSCX trades. LSCX fees are incorporated into the bid/ask spread - what you see is what you get.

Custody Support

How can I see my Bitcoin address?
To view your crypto deposit address: navigate to the “accounts” tab, select your lightspeed crypto account, click deposit Bitcoin and select how much you wish to deposit, and a newly generated bitcoin address will appear.

Can I reuse crypto addresses?
Upon an initiation of a deposit, a new deposit address for the crypto will be generated for each new deposit. While it is possible to reuse older wallet addresses, Lightspeed Crypto recommends using the newly generated address each time you want to receive crypto for additional security measures.

Do you support NFTs?
Lightspeed Crypto does not support NFTs at this time.

Do you support airdrops, forks, ICOs, etc.?
Lightspeed Crypto does not support this. If you wish to participate in an airdrop, fork, or ICO, it is recommended that you send the associated coin(s) to a supported wallet that supports them.

Who holds my private keys?
Private keys are held in a combination of hot and cold storage by our qualified custodian Prime Trust. Upon withdrawal of crypto to an external wallet, the private keys will then be transferred to the new wallet.

Can I withdraw cryptocurrency to my own external wallet address?
Yes, users can withdraw cryptocurrency to any supported external wallet and are responsible for network fees incurred associated with the withdrawal.

What happens if I withdraw crypto to the wrong wallet address?
It is very important that before all withdrawals, users verify that the withdrawal address is correct. Users will be sent a confirmation email from Prime Trust to confirm the withdrawal. LSC is not responsible for any loss of funds due to incorrect wallet addresses.

How can I hold my funds in cold storage?
Prime Trust automatically holds all user assets in a combination of hot and cold storage immediately upon deposit. No further action is needed from users.

Is my crypto being stored in hot or cold storage?
Prime trust uses a combination of both hot and cold storage methods to store user funds.

Funding and withdrawals

How do I deposit funds into my account?
Users can fund their account via USD wire transfers, ACH, or cryptocurrency deposit.

Is there a hold time for ACH deposits?
Yes, there is a 2-day holding period for ACH deposits during which users will be unable to trade or withdraw with those funds.

How do I withdraw funds from my account?
Funds can be withdrawn via domestic wire transfer or crypto wallet to wallet transfer.

What is the fastest way to fund my account?
Transferring Cryptocurrency to your Lightspeed Crypto account is the fastest way to fund your account and start trading.

Can I deposit cryptocurrencies?
Yes, cryptocurrency deposits are available. In order to make a cryptocurrency deposit, navigate to the deposit funds button located at the top right hand corner of the platform. Then, choose which asset you would like to deposit and click deposit. Enter the amount you would like to deposit and click deposit - a unique address will be generated which the selected asset can be deposited to.

Can I wire funds to my Lightspeed Crypto account?
Yes! To deposit via wire transfer, users must navigate to the top right hand corner of the platform and click the “deposit funds” button. Next, click the green deposit button next to the USD option and the bank wire instructions will pop up. Note: The reference code must be specified in the wire instructions of the sending bank. Specifying the reference code as an optional comment/note will not work and the wire will not go through. In the case that the wire fails for any reason, funds will be returned to the user’s bank account within two (2) weeks.

What fiat currencies do you support?
Currently, only USD is supported

How do I withdraw crypto currency to an external wallet?
Within the trading platform, users must navigate to the “accounts” tab in the top navigation pane. From there, click on the lightspeed crypto account to open up the detailed view. Select the cryptocurrency that you would like to withdraw and click the “withdraw” button. Users will be prompted to enter a valid withdrawal address and the amount they would like to withdraw. Upon the withdrawal request, users will receive a confirmation email from our custodian, Prime Trust, prompting the user to confirm their disbursement of crypto assets, at which point the withdrawal is initiated.

How fast before I can withdraw my cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency will be available to withdraw almost instantly after a trade has been executed, as all LSCX transactions are settled in real time.

Why have my funds not reached my destination wallet after initiating a cryptocurrency withdrawal from Lightspeed Crypto?
Withdrawals are processed several times per day in batches. If your withdrawal is taking longer than expected, please be patient and rest assured your funds are not lost - the withdrawal will simply be a part of the next batch.

What exchanges do you support?
Please refer to our Exchanges page. From the column on the right labeled “Support”, users can see which exchanges we support for charting, trading, and balance tracking.

Is there a fee for linking a third party exchange account?
No, Lightspeed Crypto does not charge a fee for linking a third-party exchange to your Lightspeed account.

Is there a fee for trading a third-party exchange account?
Yes, Lightspeed Crypto charges a $2.00/trade for trades performed via external exchanges outside of LSCX

How do I fund a third-party exchange account?
All third-party exchanges must be funded directly from the exchange. Once a user has funded from an external exchange, those funds will then be reflected in your balances under the “portfolio” tab on Lightspeed Crypto.

How do I request a withdrawal on a third-party exchange account?
All withdrawals for third-party linked accounts must be initiated at the original exchange. For example, if a user has a coinbase pro exchange API linked to their account and would like to initiate a withdrawal, that withdrawal must be initiated from coinbase.com.

Coinigy by Lightspeed Crypto never has custody of your assets. All assets are custodied with Prime Trust - an industry-leading qualified custodian. All user data and API key information is encrypted with AES 256-bit encryption. We also offer two-factor authentication to enable secure trading from multiple different exchange APIs.

Account Statements

Does LSCX report my trades?
Lightspeed Crypto will provide you with monthly account statements. Lightspeed Crypto does not report any gains/losses. Users are responsible for self-reporting all trades for tax purposes.

The following pairs are available for trading with LSCX: BTC/USD, ETH/USD, LTC/USD, ETC/USD, BCH/USD.

What does the table on the “Time and Sales” tab represent?
The table displayed next to the order book is a list of broader market executions from multiple exchanges including Coinbase Pro, Gemini, Binance US, FTX US, and Kraken. It is important to note that this list ONLY includes execution data from external markets, and NOT quote data. Broader exchange execution prices include trade fees charged by the exchanges.

Why did my order not fill when the prices from the execution data table crossed my limit price?
Broader market execution data in the Time and Sales window does not include LSCX prices. LSCX offers all-in pricing with no additional fees. Orders will fill on LSCX when our market makers match with the specified limit price decided upon by the user. It is important to note that this list ONLY includes execution data from external markets, and NOT quote data.

How are the OHLC charts constructed?
The OHLC charts for LSCX pairs are built using broader market execution data, NOT from quote data. The prices seen on the charts are comprised of trade executions that have occurred on Coinbase pro, Binance US, FTX US, Kraken, and Gemini. Broader exchange execution prices DO NOT include trade fees charged by the exchanges.

Why did my limit order not fill when the price on the LSCX charts crossed my specified limit price?

What order types do you support?
LSCX currently supports limit orders and stop-limit orders.

How are trades executed on a third-party exchange account?
Please refer to your third-party exchange trading and execution rules page. Lightspeed Crypto is not involved in any way regarding third-party trade execution.

What is a limit order?
A limit order is an order to buy or sell an asset at a specific price or better. A buy limit order can only be executed at the limit price or lower, and a sell limit order can only be executed at the limit price or higher.

What is a market order?
A market order is an order to buy or sell an asset at the best available price provided by the exchange.

What is a stop-limit order?
A stop-limit order is an order to buy or sell a stock that combines the features of a stop order and a limit order. Once the stop price is reached, a stop-limit order becomes a limit order that will be executed at a specified price (or better). At LSCX, the stop price monitors the broader market, and once the stop price is triggered, a limit order will be placed on LSCX liquidity. Stop limit orders are not guaranteed to fill.

What hours can I trade?
Unlike traditional investing markets, cryptocurrencies markets do not close. Trades can be executed 24/7 although volatility may be increased during holidays, weekends, and other periods of low liquidity.

What is the minimum order size?
There is no minimum orders size required to place a trade with Lightspeed Crypto.

How long does it take for trades to settle?
Trades are settled instantly and are available for withdrawal immediately.

Can I short-sell cryptocurrencies?
No, short selling is not available through Lightspeed Crypto.

Why can't I see my limit order in the order book?
LSCX does not operate a central limit order book. All users’ orders are placed in an aggregated order book and filled only when those orders are matched by our market makers.

Can I trade on the weekends and on holidays?
Trading is available on the weekends and holidays although during periods of low liquidity, there may be increased volatility in the crypto markets.

Why are the spreads higher on LC compared to other trading platforms?
Lightspeed Crypto includes our trading fee into the spread. Since the fee is baked into the spread -what you see is what you get. There are no additional fees/commissions that the user is responsible for when placing a trade. Whereas with most other trading platforms, users are required to pay an ADDITIONAL fee on top of the spread, in order to place the trade

Trading Platform

How do I use Lightspeed Crypto charts?
Lightspeed crypto uses tradingview charts and the same functionalities are available. The left column in the charting window houses all the available drawing tools, while the top row allows users to add indicators, change chart type, and cycle through chart timeframe settings.

How do I customize the ticker?
In order to view a different market on the charts, navigate to the column on the left of the markets page, and select the specific market AND pair you wish to see on the charts.

How do I customize favorites?
To select favorites, users must first select the exchange and trading pair from the markets tab on the left column of the platform. Once the exchange and pair are selected, within the trading panel on the right side of the screen, users can click the ‘star’ button to select that trading pair as a favorite. To view all favorite markets, users can click the ‘star’ button on the left hand markets column in order to only show favorite markets.

How can I view multiple charts at the same time?
To view multiple charts at the same time, users must navigate to the ‘Boards’ tab on the top navigation panel. From there, users can set up customizable dashboards with many different views such as custom panel sizes and types.

Are keyboard shortcuts available?
Yes, keyboard shortcuts are available at the bottom right-hand section of the platform labeled "keyboard shortcuts" and can be fully customized

Can I share screenshots of my charts?
Yes, to take a screenshot users must navigate to the top right of the charting screen and select the camera icon labeled ‘take a snapshot’. From there, users can save the image, copy the URL to the image, or share directly via twitter.

How do I use chart study templates?
Lightspeed Crypto uses TradingView charts. To add studies/indicators, users must click ‘indicators’ on the top of the charting screen and search for relevant indicators that are to be added.

How do I set up an alert?
After an exchange and trading pair has been selected from the markets tab, users must navigate to the “alerts” tab on the right hand side of the screen within the trading panel. From there, users can customize alerts based on Price and volume.

How do I autosave my chart indicators and trend lines?
Go to Profile -> Account Preferences -> scroll down to platform preferences -> check the "Autosave" box.

How do I customize the color scheme on the trading platform?

Users must navigate to the bottom right of the trading platform screen and select the “moon” icon named ‘change theme’. From there, users can customize the color scheme of the trading platform.
